Unfortunately, the IP address restriction caused another, subtle, problem. I have removed the restriction, and I will either continue to handle the spam problem manually or find another solution.

Update -- I'm attending the WordPress Revealed seminar, and I just learned that you can block IP addresses in your .htaccess file. There is a website http://www.countryipblocks.net/country-blocks/ that will generate either an allow or a block list of IP addresses that you can just copy into your .htaccess file. I just used that to block all IP not in the US. That should drastically reduce the spambot problem. I hope.

The point of competitive commuting is not to get to work before the other guy (after all, who's in a hurry to get to work these days?) The point of competitive commuting is to NOT let the other guy get ahead of you!

The interesting thing is that these people who will fight tooth and nail to not allow someone ahead of them on the road....are the same people who will smile and let others in when entering or exiting a big room or a theater. The difference is that there is eye contact and the ability to identify one's "competitor."

The human animal is exceedingly strange.

BTW, if you are looking for a good barber in Plano, Texas, I recommend Style Rite Barber & Beauty near Parker & Alma. They are good folks, and I even hope to have them in one of my CHL classes in the not-to-distance future. Disclaimer: I did their website.
